So we cooked a community lunch at a local church which plays host to the Temple of Universal Judaism (hey, it’s New York).
The cooking range was seriously impressive, and was donated by this fellow, who apparently came by for lunch one day in the 1960s…

He was so impressed with the food, he asked to see the kitchen. Then he was so appalled by the kitchen, he donated a huge set of commercial ranges, reach-ins and countertops to ensure future guests would be well-served.
The 163 guests we had for lunch seem pleased, including the very well-dressed, well-mannered lady who set the table for herself and her three other friends, whom nobody else could see…
Your postcards are always so interesting. What a hoot. I guess there is at least one big deep-fryer in that kitchen somewhere.
The well-mannered lady and her friends got a big laugh from me.
